For Scotland, July 2025 was the 4th warmest July ever recorded, at an average temperature of 14.9ºC it was 1.5ºC warmer than the 1991-2020 average. It was also the 7th warmest month of any sort in Scotland’s temperature records, which go back to 1884.
6 of 7 months of 2025 have been warmer than average, 5 of them more than 1ºC warmer. If this trend continues 2025 will be the warmest year ever recorded in Scotland, beating 2022. 9 out of 10 of the warmest years in the 142 year record have been this century, the exception being 1997.
May 2025 was the sunniest month ever, in records going back to 1910.
